Our first camp experience was at the andBeyond Bataleur Camp in Masai Mara, Kenya. One thing about all the andBeyond Safari camps and lodges, their entire staff is always in the parking lot greeting you when you first arrive and saying goodbye when you leave. Here they were, singing a song to us while Darren and I were getting off of the Safari vehicle!

We walked into the camp “lobby” and it seriously looked like one of those Ralph Lauren catalogs. The fabric and leather furnishings looked amazing under the canvas tent! It’s definitely the ultimate luxury out in the bush! No one does it better than andBeyond!
The breakfast, lunch and dinner menu on the chalk board changes daily, so it’s exciting to see what the chef prepares each day! And if you have any certain dietary needs and requirements, it’s no problem… they take such great care of that as well.

The bedding was as luxurious as the Four Seasons… I love the ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and flushable toilet!
Miss your yoga class from home? No problem… you can do that out in the bush too! Drinking water is always accessible within arms’ reach!
The bathroom amenities were just like a 5-star hotel, and we got a welcome packet at each camp when we first arrived!

You can’t beat that view and look how yummy the food was! Definitely 5-star quality!

The swimming pool at camp… the temperate was still pretty chilly, so I didn’t swim during this trip.

A beautiful butterfly visited us during lunch one day… and so did the warthog family!
We celebrated my birthday and our 10th wedding anniversary on this trip, so we had A LOT of cake in these few weeks! They even decorated our outdoor private dining table right outside our tent! It was so romantic!
And during our departure, they all sang to us again…
